Manufacturing design consultant and project manager for a variety of clients, primarily in the food and beverage industry.  Manager of new process equipment installations at multiple sites across the country.  This includes working with the project team and the client on preliminary engineering, final design, developing the scope of work, managing the budget, assembling bid packages, overseeing contractors during construction, and commissioning new product lines.  Also carried out process improvement studies and participated in new packaging R&D quality trials. 

Key Projects

Major Food and Beverage Company– Cheverly, MD

Took project management ownership, including Client and Design Group budget oversight, over the execution of a $6M overhaul project allowing the client to run several new packages and beverage flavors.  Included the demo of a water room and remodeling the space to be a clean glucose and sucrose storage tank room.  Worked with OEM to install three new process tanks.  Additionally, the work included the design and execution of overhead conveyor and empty can system retrofits, controls modifications, and associated punch list completion.  Managed the development of the layout for a new concentrate room. Served as a start-up manager and ongoing production process support engineer at the palletizer, nitrodoser, empty can system, and new “batch skid of the future”.  Lead trials to qualify new flavors and packages across all machine centers.

Major Food and Beverage Company– Hayward, CA

Managed the execution of a $5M capital project to rework two packaging lines, one of them being for an entirely new box design. The work involved the demolition of old or redundant pieces of the line, relocating existing equipment, installing new machines, and overseeing a rework of process controls.  It also involved leading design decisions for multiple OEM retrofits and several additional line upgrades.  In the end, this included installing and commissioning two new packers, two new spirals, an interlox jam table, and new overhead conveyor.  It also encompassed a retrofit of the wrapper and conveyer pneumatics.  Also took on significant ownership of the client-side project finances, approving the client invoices, updating the master tracker, planning future spending, and leading team budget reviews.

Major Food and Beverage Company– Albany, NY

Oversaw the execution of a major capital project to rework a packaging line to improve yield and reduce enviromental impact. The work involved the demolition of old or redundant pieces of the line, relocating existing equipment, installing new machines, and overseeing a rework of process controls.

Major Food and Beverage Company– Philadelphia, PA

Provided onsite management for a packaging line demo.  Coordinated work between contractors and plant personnel.


Major Food and Beverage Company R&D– Valhalla, NY

Provided onsite management for the installation of a new filer in Valhalla.  Coordinated work between contractors and plant personnel. Managed the contractor manning schedule.  Supported the process design team.


Major Food and Beverage Company – Various Sites

Supported R&D and qualification team at packaging trials at a variety of sites.  Included qualifications for new designs to preform, bottle and can designs. Contributed to reports and recommendations based on trial outcomes.

Machine Safety Team – Various Sites

Provided owner representation and on-site management services for the installation of machine safety upgrades in a number of locations.  Included electronic level control upgrades to bottle and can line fillers, pallet stretch wrapper safety upgrades, and new equipment installation safety validations.  Coordinated work between contractors and plant personnel. Supported design improvements and controls implementations.  Developed and delivered operator training.  Managed communication and documentation between the corporate team and the plant.


Major Food and Beverage Company – Newark, NJ

Carried out a process study on a Deodorizer unit.  Provided a report with analysis and recommendations. Presented findings to management and operators onsite.

Supported a measure-up for a major packaging installation.
